Final – Music Promotional video

Linking Audio to Visuals and Applying effects P4 (d)

For this task, I had to add audio effect on the audio track.However I didn't have any lip singing scene in my music video.However I still added serval effect on it.

 For all of the footages that I had taken,I have to " unlink " the video and separate them from video and audio from the timeline.Once the audio is unlink and deleted, now only the video is shown and can add the music sound track on the audio track.

The music I have downloaded,the music at the end ended up very sudden,I think it was very weird.Therefore I had change the ending by  decrease the volume in a descending order.For this effect,I think it worked really well by combining with my video.

              First I had used razor tools to divided the ending in to very small part of the audio.

Then I had used a bypass at each section of the audio.Using bypass can change the volume of that audio specific section.Now the " Level" is 6.0 dB and it is the normal sounding.

Then I had decreased the volumed by dragging the line lower and now it is 3.7 dB.Which I had repeated the process for each section until it became completely silence at the very end on the music video.

At some point of the music,the volume suddenly became lower than usual.Then I have use "Audio Mixer " to push the audio track volume into maximum in some specific area.So now the music outcome is more even.

To improve the quality of the visuals,smoothing the video is one way to improve the quality of the visuals. Especially video I have speed up to 3000%,it became really laggy and slow.To solve this problem,  go to " Sequence " , "Render entire work area " and the video become smoother than before.To know is it been improved,there is a green line on the time line.Green line means it is smooth and solve the laggy problem .

Producing and reviewing an off line edit P4 (b)

This is the rough cut of my music video.

Then I have added some video transition on it and rearranged some of the video footages to gave a better effects.

the music video,I have used premiere pro to either edit and add special effect.

Effect can be added by the left side bar of the Premiere pro."Video Effect" and "Video Transitions" can be help the the transitions between video and video.It improves the quality of visual effect. Type of video transition I had been commonly used is "Cross" , " Cut" , "Dissolve" & " Push"."Dissolve" is the mostly used in my music video as it can represent time pass by using this effect and it matches well to my music video.Using a fast forward effect and dissolve are the perfect combination to represent time pass.

At the front of the music video, I had started with Bosco doing his homework in his room.I had used two shots for the day time.I filmed it with two different angle and sides of the actor.After that I had speed up the video and represent he had been working for a long time.And the car passing through the road is represent time pass.And when it comes back to Bosco's room,the curtain is closed and the light is turned on.It means Bosco had been working through day and night.

In this scene, I had filmed actor - Jim doing his homework in the library at first.Then the camera keep moving from his back left to right in a pan effect.Then I had taken another shot in his room,also from left to right of his back.Then I had edited those two clips and used a dissolve effect.In this part , I want to show the audience that Jim had been working hard from library to his room.In his room , Jim's room is very dim compare to the library which mean it is already a late night.

Also in this part,I had used a high angle + pan effect to film it.It placed the camera on a turning chair and rotate it gently.Then I had repeat by turn off the light,then added a dissolve effect between both video.In this part, the video transition is very smooth.In this section , I want to bring out the message that both Jim and Bosco had been playing video game for a very long time,from night to mid-night.

From the scene both actors are playing video game.By the time they had finished.I had used a "Push" effect between the video of they went to the football field.By using this effect, I do not need to explain the detail of how they get change , went out ..... This effect can help me to save time and straight jump to the next scene.

Logging rushes & creating an edit decision list P4 (a)

In this section , I will be showing how I set up my Adobe Premiere Pro at the beginning of this project , renaming all the raw footage and the shortlist how I follow it.

To do the editing of the videos,I had chosen Premiere Pro software as it is very easy to control.

Ensure all the setting are been set up correctly such as the capture format must be in HDV.If the setting is wrong,the final export video will be affect.By renaming the "Name", it helps to recognise the project that I am working.

Renamed video allowed me to recognised the video easily.

Shotlist

I had created a list that show the video I had used in my video.I had arranged the clips into screen , length, description of shot and location.In the description of shot, I had explain a short detail of the video like angle , speed and reaction of the actor.

Following Production Processes P3 (d)

In this task, I will be showing how I operated the equipment , directed the actor control the lighting to bring out the best effect during the whole filming production.

Type of Music : This music is a warm , bright ,  mellow & cheerful music,the lyrics is very encouraging.Therefore the location of filming I had chosen must be a cheerful place to film such as football field,common room and sports hall.This all places are very warm & cheerful , places that only remind people about their happiness.

Filming diary:

08/1/2016 We started filming after supper time at 7:30pm,actors of my group are living in the school, so it is not a problem to get everyone together to film. We started from the Elfick House for the first scene. Actor Jim  and actor Bosco , Causal wear and sports kits is been required for them to be ready. 

Filming is more complicated than I thought, we have to meet the suitable weather and lighting system to adjust,so the lighting was perfect. We also have to bring the equipments such as lens and tripod and take good care of it to prevent damaging them.Lighting system is very big issue for me,because I want to build a dark night mood by turning off the light in the room.However the camera gone completely black out,I have then using a very high value of ISO.Although using high value is ISO can give some light into the camera,but it will become very blurry and not clear.Then I have turn on some light in a very far back of the room to provide some light source.

To bring out the best performance for my music video,before the camera started recording. I had rehearsal each scene with the actor for 3 - 4 times.By doing this,I am able to build up the facial expression and emotion of the actors.Once the camera starting filming,they are able to act well. 

Following Safe working practices P3 (c)

In the whole filming process,property damaged and people get hurt are very often to happen.In order to stop hazard happened,I had taken lots of precaution to prevent.

While filming in the football field,the actors has to kick the football very gently to prevent hitting the camera.Also to prevent any of the crew member getting hurt from wet floor.I have checked the football field has a dry condition to prevent the any of us fall down and get hurt while filming.Also the actors are experienced football player so they were able to control the football well.

While filming next to the road side.I have set up the camera at the far side of the pedestrian road so car will not hit the camera by any chance.Also I have stand next to the camera for the whole process of filming to prevent anyone vandalise the camera and the lens.Furthermore,I have checked the weather forecast the there will be no raining or shower by the time I was filming at the road side.It  also prevent any property getting soak and destroy.

In this scene,distance between the camera,television, actors and the cameraman are all in a very close distance.To avoid tripping over by the cable wire by the television,the actor and I has to be really be careful.As the value of the television and camera are extremely high,during the filming process I had paid extra attention to avoid those problem.
